A cofferdam is a structure that is closed on all sides using steel sheet piling. A cofferdam helps to keep the earth on the outside of the structure in place while working within the interior of the cofferdam.

The steel sheet piling can be installed temporarily or be left in place permanently depending on the application. Steel sheet piling are steel sections that interlock with each other. These sections can be vibrated or pressed into the ground.
