Last month, in Bay Harbor, Florida, we installed 265 augercast pilings. Each piling was 16″ x 38′.

When we install augercast piles and steel sheet piling it is installed at existing ground level. First the steel sheet piling is vibrated vertically into the ground until the top of the sheet pile is at ground level ….in this case around the perimeter of the property. Then we installed the augercast piling.
Each project has elevation(s) where the concrete foundation needs to be poured. This project has an elevation of 11 ft down from ground level. The earth needs to be excavated down to the specific elevation causing exposure of the piling….therefore the pile(s) of dirt.
Some or all of the dirt may be used to level out the ground. The exposed portion of the piles will be cut down to the elevation according to plans. Once all of this is complete form boards are installed to get ready to pour the concrete foundation.

In this picture we are installing (34) 16” augercast piles that are 48’ deep. This project is taking place at a marina in North Miami. These pilings will be used to support the overhead lift that hoists the boats in and out of the water.
